Well I think they have this vision of going back in time IMO. They think farmers will pull back to farming their 40 acres with horses, etc and everyone will farm organically and life will be good. I don't know where they are going to find the 80K people (that is a guess and probably light) to move out to the plains to do this farming, but that is their vision. I suppose also that we could pull back and downsize and give much of the plains back to the buffalo and ringneck pheasant and farm much smaller plots and just feed America and to heck with the rest of the world. This would work for me by the way as the duck, pheasant and deer hunting would be incredible under this plan. The other thing they don't see is because of our advancements in farming the number of acres that have been idled. Acres that should have never been farmed to be honest but had to be due to our low production under the old methods. I know many thousands of acres of blow sand around this area that are no longer farmed for crops, their irrigation systems have been removed and they have been re planted to trees. Just as it should be.
