I would consider the VIX/VXN behaviour as bearish in a larger time frame then I am viewing the Rydex, the larger complacency is a real good sign that the secular bear will return with a vengeance one day. But a 5-1 bear bull ratio on the SPX Nova/Ursa is the here and now. As we sit about 2.5% away from 4 year highs on the SPX I find this ratio quite befuddling and makes me think the cyclical bull has more to go, perhaps much more.
