Gustave - You keep missing this - It means turning say the 5 largest cities in Syria (or which ever nation gave the most support to the terrorists) into glass parking lots by using multiple 1 megatons nukes on them.

That's the asymmetric response.

That's one reason Khadaffi folded, that, and the pull of being able to trade with the rest of the world, especially the EU - and not just the Italians.

And that WILL deter some states from giving more than minor help to the terrorists.

There are two governments gone now - Afghan and Iraq.

You seem to keep hopeing the strategic situation will develop where the US gets trapped into having to deal with terrorists on thier terms, and not being able to use force against static targets, such a states which assist the terrorists.

Pretty unlikely, especially since every government from Morroco to Malaysia knows how this will work out.

Maybe you want talk about how this is against international law or should go through the UN....
