JFK, RFK and MLK were killed by the rightwing. Some also say Wallace (badly wounded) as Nixon was scared he'd suck away conservatives if he ran as an independent. You have to remember that Nixon (and Johnson, Reagan and the Bushes) had extreme rightwing black ops types available to them. The Watergate burglars were in this group. Those guys are vicious and often hate "liberals" so bad they'd kill them. Also remember we had CIA assassins working for us all over the world in those days, and might still. But the "lone nuts" all showed signs of being drugged and brainwashed. MK ULTRA had such programs, a top-secret division of the CIA. No fantasy, it was real. For one thing it tested about 5000 Americans with LSD in the 50's, sometimes with doses so high they send King Kong on a bad trip. It believed the ends were always worth the means.
As Lynn Nofzinger said when I had a frank talk with him once "I wouldn't put it past them". And he should know.
And if rightwing enemies of the Kennedys and King didn't kill them, who did? One thing we know is that it would have been next to impossible for any of those "lone nuts" to pull anything like that off alone. Especially the coverups. And especially Oswald. After all, how could Oswald have arranged his own murder to silence himself? And remember what he was trying to say "I'm just a patsy". Indeed. Then Ruby was killed too. In fact most of the witnesses were killed soon after. Who had the power to do that?
You don't have to be a conspiracy theorist to know that ever since the days of King Tut political enemies have slain each other. And the main man with the motive, opportunity and power was G. Edgar Hoover. Though he probably had help in Texas, and from the CIA assassins.
BTW: Hoover may also have later helped bring down Nixon, because Nixon replaced Hoover's top guy. Felt was a Hoover guy.
Hopefully that will happen no more. God help us if it does. Now if we could just make sure those Diebold machines are honest I'd feel better. Voting machines which are rigged are a form of political assassination. They can deliver coup d'etats very stealthily.
BTW: I disagree with theorists who blame Bush for masterminding 9-11 or killing Paul Wellstone. I don't believe Bush is that evil. Though he is certainly not above letting his people cheat, fix, rig, lie, smear, cover up and fleece. In that way he's very similar to Nixon. |
