There is way too much corn being grown. That is why high fructose corn syrup is in almost every product now. This is a concern because your brain does not get a message that you are full when you consume this sweetener, unlike it does when you eat regular sugar. In fact, some experts believe that corn sweeteners are behind the obesity epidemic in America, because its use and the rise of obesity share exactly the same pattern on the graph.

Organic farming is quite possible if it is local and sustainable, and people grow what fits in with the soil and climate in their area. The shipment of agricultural products across long distances is causing pollution and adding to global warming, as well as using up petroleum reserves unnecessarily. You are trying to pigeonhole organic farming into the same conventional (pesticide) agricultural model that we have now, but it looks and feels totally different (and doesn't deplete the soil, either).
