DALLAS, Sept. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Summa Four, Inc., (NASDAQ:SUMA), today
announced that TelSoft, a privately held company of telecommunications
software architects located in Burlingame, C.A. is the latest member of it's
Partners 4 Success application developer program.
TelSoft's flagship product is the Open MSC, a scaleable, standards-based
approach to enabling PCS carriers to build network infrastructure quickly and
cost-effectively. The Open MSC is Unix-based and runs on all Summa Four VCO
Series switching platforms. It is designed to support a broad range of
interfaces including IS-41, IS-95 CDMA, IS-136, and IS-653. The Open MSC
contains an integrated VLR, optional HLR, and a complete billing system. The
entire system is managed through SNMP.
"The proliferation of cellular/PCS has created a strong need for an open,
scaleable, and dependable MSC that can be integrated with a variety of Base
Station equipment," said Arvind Jain, President of TelSoft: "The Open MSC is
designed to fit into this niche and will help provide wireless services to all
segments of the population, at affordable prices."
TelSoft is planning the first customer installation of the Open MSC for
first quarter 1998. An early version will be demonstrated in the Summa Four
booth (#12249) at PCS '97 in Dallas, TX, September 10-12.
