But it depends on the particular English person. Similarly, right now there is favouritism to Maori who are specially privileged New Zealanders.

I suppose you are making a general racial stereotype that English went around the world killing locals in bulk. That didn't happen in NZ. America saw a lot more killing of locals. There was a treaty here in 1840 which sorted out conflict, for the most part. Any conflicts were minor. The major murdering was done by Maori on Maori [or Moriori on the Chatham Islands].
