We talk about Daichendt as a Cisco guy like he was directly recruited from Cisco. He was actually gone from Cisco for more than four years. He left an extremely high-level job at Cisco (2nd to Chambers) and "Since leaving Cisco, Daichendt has focused on commercial real estate investments and developing a new technology venture". I'll bet the Cisco PR when he left said he was leaving to "pursue other opportunities" or, IOW, Chanbers canned him. He left in Dec 2000 and since CSCO dropped more than 50% in 2000, he may have been a convenient scapegoat.
