Do you recall how recently God was inserted, and for what reason? Most people don't. If you want to talk about things remaining as they are. I'd rather go back to the original pledge...

1892 version is nice:

I pledge allegiance to my Flag,
and to the Republic for which it stands:
one Nation indivisible,
With Liberty and Justice for all.

or even the 1923 version:

I pledge allegiance to the
Flag of the United States,
and to the Republic for which it stands:
one Nation indivisible,
With Liberty and Justice for all.

and then the 1924 version also has its appeal:

I pledge allegiance to the Flag
of the United States of America,
and to the Republic for which it stands:
one Nation indivisible,
With Liberty and Justice for all.

The 1954 changes suck though, and are unnecessarily divisive. We should return to the purity and innocence of the past, don't you think?
