Maybe they aren't ready. I agree that to be free, you have to want it enough to die for it. Then you are truly free. But think about this. One thing I also took away from that article was that the Iranian mullahs are able to buy off their youth because the oil money is sloshing around Iran. If Bush had spent $100-200B to get us off the ME oil, then maybe that money wouldn't be sloshing around Iran, which would ensure the continued misery of the youth, which would hasten the day they revolt against those clerics. We are defeating ourselves by funding the people who we are fighting. And destroying the environment in the process. Stupid if you ask me.
