From yer header... How many Americans would lose big with their retirement going into the stock market? The market will eat up any inexperienced investor Given that we are on an investment site, we are supposed to be more market savvy and experienced than the average person, and the market eats us up. My IRA is still down maybe 33% from its high, way back when. ( I don't think I put fresh money into it after Y2K, because I became eligible for a 401K, or E, or some letter, at work). I'm not the only one on SI like that. If bad things happen to "smart" or "experienced", or whatever, people,what about the rest of them? Rat
