tsigprofit....I agree with you about the low-end education/talent now being employed full-time in doctors' offices to deal one-on-one with people who need health care. We haven't had to use much health care service in our household since the kids were young, but now it appears that an entire office staff of low-paid workers runs interference for their doctor-employers when you call and try to get any meaningful help at all. Same when you visit the office. Received a "really cool" refrigerator magnet in the mail the other day from our health-insurance provider, which gives the phone number of a nurse to call when we need medical advice or want help to find a doctor. Give me a break. At the prices that must no doubt be paid when one finally consults a doctor, why do we have to spend time and pay an intermediary in the meantime? If the case is urgent enough to need this so-called help via phone, why wouldn't we go to the emergency room? Makes no sense to me, but whadda I no?
