I bought my burner at Harbor Freight on sale for $20. There was a sign someplace, maybe on the box, that said you could use them to burn weeds and melt ice.

The propane tank cost twice as much as the burner.

When I burned slash, I used a backpack tank with a propane burner. Drip torches, which use a gasoline/diesel mix to dribble burning mixture are better because the mixture keeps heat on the slash fuel longer.
