Americans still believe that this war was built on anything but a sack of fabrications, Still others believe the Iraq war was based on 9/11 , even if the links were misguided. The truth is Junior and his advisors were planning on having a war even before the 2000 election and had already decided on Iraq as being the easiest country to pushover. Bush told his biographer, Mickey Herskowitz, that he would have to be seen as "commander in chief" if he was to be taken as a strong leader and for that he needed to conquer someone.
