Our research (1993) indicated a RAID market of 2Bill with projections to 10Bill by 1997. We haven't looked at the numbers lately this so it is a bit out of date. We figured that a 1% market share would have been at least $100 Mill. We had a problem with financing and missed the window. SOS was able to buy into the market and got its place on the up escalator. They seem to be sticking to niche specialty areas rather than the commodity side like HP and the other bigs. They have a high end, expensive $100,000+ product that rules out run of the mill network servers. I really like their prospects. There is going to be a lot of growth in the high end and that is where the big profits are.
