If you are not pro-corruption what are you doing defending the most egregiously corruption head of congress this country has ever had. Remember, as I've said, just the few scandals we know about for sure, like $500,000 paid to his wife, is ten times what forced Speaker Wright out of power in the 80's. But that $500,000 is the tip of the iceberg.
Look at the $684,000 Delay's three top fundraisers got from corporations to run their "clean house" campaign in Texas. Totally illegal to use corporate money for this but they did it anyway. Or Delay's foundation which has raised tends of millions supposedly for needy kids, but has spent more on golf trips than kids, and gave Perry the funder of the smearvets a $6,000,000 deal after the election.
Even the conservative Wall Street Journal says that Delay stinks. So why are the rest of the conservatives defending him? The GOP needs to cleanse itself. Not just for its own good but for the country's good. We simply cannot tolerate having such corrupt political parties who refuse to police themselves, especially when they are the party in power. |
