I don't know. I think if heroin were decriminalized farmers would be able to grow opium, if they wanted to make modest profits, but drug barons wouldn't be interested in it- thus taking away a huge prop of organized crime, and terrorist organizations worldwide (terrorist organizations have found drugs to be a lucrative way to fund their operations.)

The drugs in pot do not work on me at all, so it's a "horrible" drug for me, since it doesn't work on me. But I've known people almost all my life who smoked pot- successful people, and not so successful people, but they all used it pretty much the way people use alcohol, so I don't have any more problem with pot than I do with alcohol, drug-wise. I don't think people with children should smoke it because they are taking too big a risk by doing so in this current weird political climate where we pretend we have a "war" on a drug that tons of people use, and that many movies and TV shoes make even more popular. But if pot were legal I think it would be a good alternative to drinking- I much prefer people who are stoned to people who are drunk.
