Nice dig.
I did not like that story from the outset. Too many peculiar aspects to it.

Chernobyl was and still is a disaster of huge proportions. If the Ukraine, where much/most of the intense fallout dropped, was more heavily populated, Chernobyl would still be making headlines.

We were within 25 minutes of a similar event at three-mile Island. Given the wind currents that day, it would have rendered NYC, Long Island and portions of NJ, Connecticut and other nearby states uninhabitable for tens of thousands of years.

This subject is worth another honest look. Can't get there by lying about it.
