My recollection is that it's not color but black and white. I also recollect seeing at least one person on a motorcycle but that might be imagination.
The reason I mention motorcycles is that the "proof" that Elena didn't really go to Chernobyl is that "motorcycles are banned" in the area. Well, a lot of stuff is officially illegal there but people do it anyway. Watch the documentary, it's well done.
