The ghost of Lyndon Johnson is already here. Iraq is a much more dangerous version of Vietnam because of the oil and because of regional instability.

Why hasn't Rumsfeld been fired? He is grossly incompetent, arrogant, a liar and living in la-la land while people die. A suicide bomber, wearing an Iraqi uniform blew himself up today in a crowded mess hall. Who the heck cares if there are 169,000 Iraqi troops supposedly (as if) trained to take over when they're complete infiltrated with would be insurgents?

After 911, we all became utterly stupid. OBL achieved an awesome victory over us even inciting us to occupy a Muslim country as he predicted. With every greedy, lying, idiotic, incompetent step the Bush administration and the spineless Congress takes, his victory is ever more complete.

The army said it would take some 450,000-500,000 troops to be the 'overwhelming force' in Iraq. We have less than a third of that there now. That would have been the number THEN, at the BEGINNING when Iraqis were with us, waiting to see if we were as good as our PR.

That was before the looting, Abu Ghraib, Gitmo, the night time raids, the murders, the false arrests, Fallujah, Mosul, Halliburton, Bechtel, Custer Battles, etc. etc.

Who knows what it would take now. Our image sucks.

=====There may be no win.

There may be no good out just as there wasn't in Vietnam. Can we institute a draft tomorrow and ship out an additional 300,000 soldiers in 6 months? Egads. With the majority of Americans saying that Iraq wasn't worth it to begin with?

Do you think Bush has the cojones to take that kind of political hit? Do you?

Bush's strategy: wishful thinking and blaming everyone else.
