Al, Evangelicals on public TV and cable openly request their members to tithe 10% of their income, making it very clear that it means all forms of income, and citing the bible as the source of the obligation. Mormons are even more demanding.

In other words, every Christian church in your mind requires tithing.

I must be going to the wrong churches then, because none of the ones I went to require it. And back when I went to college, the on-campus services didn't even pass around the offering plate. Instead, they just leave it next to the door, kind of like those tip jars at local restaurants.
