| I think you are making mountains of molehills with your questions, by and large. We went there and have made tons of progress toward the goal, and are getting closer every day. We did have the best coalition we could get, IMO, and it's good we didn't delay any longer (we delayed far too long as it was, IMO). We should know we should continue on the same path we've headed out on. Democrats seem to have been contemplating a draft more so than Republicans and I doubt we need one despite all to date. We shouldn't pull out 'til the job is sufficiently done. The foreign hand in Iraq is not invisible at all, plainly (not ours, nor theirs). I'm not one to blame every little thing that goes wrong on our very imperfect government, so long as we are continuing to seek the goal of protecting America and the world from blossoming terror the best we can. Rather than complaining over fingers which are always rightly pointed at terrorists in Iraq and elsewhere, we should indeed continue to seek to put terrorists in their place, taking advantage of what we've learned along the way. We should work at it. We should correct past mistakes in the future. But we should know we've set out on the right track, regardless the errors to be expected along the way. Our decision to go to Iraq remains better than not going, IMO, and this is one of those matters in which making a decision, even considering where we may have gone wrong, has been better than no decision to go at all. |
