Have you ever examined the U.S. frequency allocation chart? It has been modified since 9/11. It used to show that huge, and I mean huge swaths of the radio spectrum were designated for the exclusive use of the U.S. military.

We can communicate with the Voyager spaceship which is now in the vicinity of Uranus. We can direct the Mars rover vehicles with digital commands.

Why would we need something as archaic as wires on a detonator? Hell, even the Iraqi insurgents figured out how to use cell phones to detonate IEDs. This ain't rocket science.

One laptop computer with a wifi transmitter would have been all that was needed to control hundreds of sequenced explosive devices rigged as stand-alone "packages" with battery operated receiver-detonator units.

I'm certainly not saying this is what happened. I'm simply pointing out that all this technology is currently available, and not even particularly sophisticated compared with some of the other wonders emanating from the devious minds at DARPA.

The proceeding was highly speculative, of course. But then, when the world is in the state it is today, who can say but what a little speculation may be in order.....

As Alice would say, things are getting "curiouser and curiouser"....
