We must have a robust government and a robust opposition. - There have already been attempts to legislate against free wifi offered by, say, municipalities. - Republicans have already tried to: 1. make PBS into a rightwing tools and 2. Kill PBS. Frankly, I don't think they care which one they accomplish. Right now, they're trying to kill it by cutting off ALL government funding. Republicans hate education and so they're trying to kill Sesame Street. An educated middle class is the bane of their existence. - Apparently, C-Span is worried that the government will let cable companies NOT carry it. - If everyone gets their access through, say, commercial cable, certain web sites could be cut off. - The masses, or the mob is one thing but the most important thing is the protection of the minority view. If the minority view is well protected, we're doing ok.
