< I agree that things are warming up....I do disgree that it's 'proven' mankind has anything to do with it. >

That sounds a lot like the denial of the tobacco companies that there was no proof that smoking causes cancer. You cannot take one specific person and show proof of a direct cause and effect. The preponderance of the evidence shows that human activity is causing global warming. We will never have "proof" in the sense that there is absolutely no doubt. If we study it another 100 years there will still be those who will want further "proof".

One thing that we do know for sure is that CO2 levels have risen about 30% in the last 150 years, over a 400,000 year norm, and that there is a direct correlation between that and the temperature rise. We need to take rational steps to try to stop that increase.

< It wasn't so long ago, the 60's & 70's, that experts were saying another ice age was imminent. >

Make that "some" experts. They had a lot less data to work with then. There was not a scientific consensus on that like there is on GW. Ironically global warming can possibly lead to another ice age if a lot more ocean water is evaporated and is deposited as heavy snofall in colder regions, that may not melt fully in Summer, thus accumulating and reflecting more sunlight, etc. Do we really want to run the experiment to see how it turns out?

< And to think it is caused by mankind is folly. >

To be so sure that it is not is reckless, IMO.
