A stolen credit card is not the only reason people dispute credit chard charges. If you are not happy with the services of a service provider you can also dipute the charges. No payment is made until the dispute is settled, and that can take months.

For example I made a minor dispute against Embassy Suites about a no show cancelation charge, and they held the payment until we settled the dipute, that took one month. The first thing they did they with held the charges from the vendor. (I am surprised that we are even talking about this.) I lost the dispute, because Embassy proved that the travel agent that I used was my legal agent and their failure to inform me of the cancelation charges was my fault. They released the payment to Embassy after that revelation.

Rick's business is service and it is very easy to dispute the charges, for reasons from quality of service, proof of service, cost of service.
Call your credit card company and dispute any item before passing judgement on the business practices of legimate businesses, please call your credit card company and dipute an item on your bill.
