Great Fitzroy to buy Cobar copper mine

PERTH, Aug 29 (Reuter) - Great Fitzroy Mines NL said on Friday it agreed to acquire the CSA copper mine in Cobar in the Australian state of New South Wales for A$36.8 million, clearing the way for a listing at the London Stock Exchange.

In Namibia, Great Fitzroy is increasing its stake in the Haib copper mine development project to 55 percent from 20 percent after reaching an agreement with partner Namibian Copper Mines Inc (NCMI.OB).

The Haib project is forecast to yield 115,000 tonnes of copper cathode, 17,000 ounces of gold and 880,000 kg of molybdenum concentrate annually. Start-up is expected in about two years.
