The Ukrainians sure lost a few to Stalin. Incidentally in Sweden we also have an old family by same name but they are in no way related to the Russian version and believe me, my uncle's next cousin is happy for that. Their pronounciation BTW is Stalin. Did the family originate in Russia or Sweden? Stalin doesn't sound very Swedish but then it doesn't sound very Russian either.......I've always assumed its short for Stalinsky. ted
