Well so many of the degrees are bogus IMO and nobody bothers to tell the kids that. If your not going to be a teacher what good is a history or liberal arts or etc, etc good for? They leave college with a lot of debt and no real job prospects often. I think an average sheetmetal journeyman around here is in the 50 to 60,000 range which puts them on the top end of average earnings for this area. New family practitioners at the local clinic start at like 35K per year. I can't imagine having their debt from school and the responsibility to earn less then the guy fixing their furnace.
