Our schools and class sizes around here are much smaller of course so I don't know that time is the issue. There is just a pretty firm mind set that college is the natural progression upon leaving HS. I do think that is changing now with the tech college's and apprenticeship programs gaining in popularity. A good part of the reason I think is the almost absurd cost of college these days. It is really causing anyone but the most gifted students to look elsewhere I think.
