This is where we disagree. IMHO the war on Terror is fed on the enemies side by Fanatical Islamics that reside principally and are funded by the Middle East. Governmentally, and religiously the middle east is little changed from the Middle Ages. As Iraq becomes a modern democracy with a free and interactive population, male/female/Christian/Muslim and grows in riches (all of which I believe is possible) they will be an example for other Middle Eastern countries and THEIR people will DEMAND change. Ultimately this will lead to a thriving middle east, a major trading partner for the rest of the world, with a peoples no longer willing to listen to their fanatical Imans. This may take 20-50 years as indeed it will be A SEA CHANGE for HUMANITY. But, a long journey begins with the first step. Afghanistan, now Iraq are the first steps, I predict the movement will begin to pick up speed till they are RUNNING for the future instead of living in the past. That AND ONLY THAT will end the war on terror. jdn
