Well, lets see what the mid term elections produce. They may be an indication of the mood of the American people. Just because I said it may take 20-50 years for a major turnaround in the total middle east doesnt mean we will have American or other allied troops significantly involved in fighting. Look at EUROPE and SOUTH KOREA. We have troops in both, even in JAPAN and its been 50-60 YEARS now. I see the Iraqi's taking over just about all direct ground fighting in a year or two with Allied forces providing air support and perhaps some ground backup and transportation. Provided we dont have to occupy Syria to end their meddling many troops will be home before our GLORIOUS PRESIDENT's term is ended. So, this is unlikely to be the HOT BUTTON issue you would like it to be. jdn
