12:40 EBAY Trader Talk: eBay (36.89 -1.16) -Update- Opinion is that the sell-side community will begin coming out in defense of EBAY as stock comes under pressure amid news GOOG will offer customers a rival method of payment to EBAY's PayPal unit. View is that the selling on the GOOG news is simply a reflex reaction, and when you think about the relationship PayPal has built with its customers (trust, customer satisfaction, seen as industry standard), it is quite unlikely that the GOOG effort will be much more than a ripple and that it would take some time before it potentially made any dent in the PayPal business.
