it makes no sense to cause a commotion that draws international attention to something that would otherwise be well below their radar. Who made the speech and put it on international radar? Was it durbin or someone busting his butt at Gitmo? Al Jezeera picked up durbin's comments immediately and delightfully broadcast them. IMO durbin did this with the intent to embarrass the administration. Ooops, it backfired and now he's running for high ground. I am pleased to see that Illini voters are on his case too. He deserves it. In spades.
