We are becoming the people we have spent generations fighting against. We share the low moral ground with the despotic regimes of the past.

All our ideals ring hollow in the face of our actions, approved by our elected politicians.

I still like the US and think we're pretty great.

The poor people where I live (the ME) would move to the US in a heartbeat if they had the opportunity, so they still like the US. They greatly prefer it to where they live (its a desert out here, ya know).

But you go on thinking whatever you want if it makes you happy.
