CME news> Merc directors trim holdings

John Sandner and Leo Melamed, who are current directors and former chairmen of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, pared their holdings in the nation's biggest futures market after the exchange's first fee increases in five years sparked a gain in the Merc's shares this month. Sandner, the Merc's special policy adviser, sold 10,000 shares for about $2.5 million on June 17, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The shares represented 16 percent of his holdings in the company, the filing shows. Melamed, the exchange's senior policy adviser, sold 2,000 shares for about $515,000, trimming his holdings by about 21 percent.
