Howard Dean did not win a single primary. If he had somehow gotten the nomination he would have lost 45 states. You may like his message better but he is not presidential caliber. He may not even be DNC caliber but we'll see. He does however know how to zing the rightwing. And they hate it. So now he's their lightning rod. Which takes the heat off the real leaders so they can dismantle the Bush revolution piece by piece in conjunction with their moderate GOP allies.
