Yanda cited

By Iowa City Press-Citizen

Police cited a University of Iowa football player for allegedly leaving a metered parking lot without paying.

Marshal John Yanda, 20, of N265 Hillcrest Residence Hall, is charged with fifth-degree theft, a simple misdemeanor.

According to police:

Yanda parked his scooter Monday at a UI parking lot near Elliott Drive. After about 20 minutes, Yanda left the parking lot without paying by driving over the embankment and sidewalk. Yanda told police he did this and was witnessed by a parking lot cashier.

Yanda, a 6-foot-4, 315-pound offensive lineman from Anamosa, joined the Hawkeyes this spring after transferring from North Iowa Area Community College. He was listed as Iowa's second-string right tackle at the beginning of spring practices.

Man would I love to see the "scooter" which can keep moving with that dude on it.
