It wasn't going into Iraq, it was HOW Bush did it. So rushed, forgetting about Al Qaida, changing the subject, freaking people out, trying to scare everyone with lies and exaggerations and bullying his way around.

Failing to prepare. Turning off the Turks and Jordanians. Scapegoating the French and Germans. Really making a menace out of himself. Kicking out the UN and declaring war.

The invasion was the easy part, as I then predicted. But Bush had almost no plan for what to do afterward. Remember, he declared combat was over, mission accomplished. Time for my re-election. It has gotten worse and worse since then, though of course 400 billion and 170,000 men, including contractors, do make a difference. But now it's a no-win for us. Either way we get badly hurt now. And Bush got us into this.
