Don't recall the exact dates, Sloanee, and don't have time to go digging right now.
You would think Kodak should settle, but their lawyers seem to be calling the shots for them right now. I believe the date of the last settlement conference has passed ( but they of course could settle at anytime).
Again, a win would really lubricate the rails for future settlements and add a whopping bonus to the credibility of Ampex's ITC strategy.
A loss would, I imagine, encourage at least some licensees to hold off on payments on "the basket", and would hit the stock price in a big way.
Wouldn't be the end of Rico though.....the Delaware suit would then go forward,and Ampex would later sue Kodak (and perhaps others), if necessary, over the next patent in line. This time one with a much longer lifespan, and therefore MUCH sharper ITC teeth. But as shareholders, we'd probably be in for another VERY long waiting period before the price even began to equal the long range potential.
So this ITC business remains a very serious matter. |
