Is it worth amending the Constitution for 300,000 "anchor babies"? I don't think that's the way to look at it. Any more that the trivial number of flags being burned is the way to look a flag burning amendment. Each is relevant but peripheral. Some things are pivotal. For example, SS is pivotal for the nanny state. SS may be a popular, useful, and efficient program, but it is insidious in that it converts the middle class into supporters of government transfer payments, in general. It seems to me that according birthright to the offspring of those who are here illegally both practically and psychologically opens the floodgates as far as border control. It's like throwing up our hands and giving up.
