Every day someone is raped in a U.S. prison system.

Prison rape is illegal and the perpetrators are prosecuted.

I don't know anybody who thinks it's ok. Probably some sick and twisted individuals do think it's part of the risk of imprisonment, but that's not official US policy.

I doubt very much that leaving prisoners lying shackled in their own urine and feces for a day is official US policy either. I would appreciate it if a US government spokesman made that clear.

They made it clear about the Koran flushing eventually, although they took their sweet time about it.
