Prison rape is illegal and the perpetrators are prosecuted.

Perhaps one in a thousand, maybe...

If that one report from an anonymous source is true, lying in your own urine and feces for a day is nothing compared to being raped. Heck, you take a shower, clean up and it's over.

If some freak show terrorist held in prison was spouting off how much he wanted to kill every American, or maybe taking a swing at me or my buddy and he crapped his pants, I would probably let him rot in it for a while before finding a way for him to get cleaned up.

Many years ago, I had to lie in my own feces in a hospital for more than 6 hours when I was immobilized in an auto accident. I don't think I suffered any long term damage (some might argue with that analysis ;-)), but I'll bet it happens all the time in hospitals and nursing homes.

The desire to micromanage every aspect of our military prison system and not trust in the leadership to run it humanely and effectively is disturbing. Especially, when you compare and contrast it with the way we look the other way at real abuse which occurs every day in our civilian run prison facilities.

What justifies the difference? Is it a genuine fear of the military? Or perhaps it's rooted in the disconnect so many have toward our military, because they have so little contact with members via their offspring, friends or neighbors?
