I dont have an "elaborate study" of a Chinese diet, but I do have an anecdotal story.

My son got back from China this week and told me the story of watching an adult hold a baby over the sidewalk as he "shit". They don't have pampers in China, you know. It was right in front of a restaurant. He lost his appetite. He also lost 10 pounds over 2 weeks.
