Kerry came very close to winning against a war-time president. If not for the libelous smear campaign or the Florida hurricanes he probably would have won, even though Bush stole 30-40,000 votes in Ohio. Also, now the religous right who were the key foot soldiers for Bush are discredited. No one is going to listen to them anymore. I defy you to name one candidate who would have done better. Edwards? Dean? Who? The left has to get behind the middle and be realistic. Obama is a fantasy. He's barely an adult. Maybe in ten years he'll be ready. And white America will be ready for him. Just remember, not just Bush cheating but Nader put Bush in office to begin with. So support the moderates. That is where national elections are won. No liberal has ever won the presidency. Never even come close. Clinton only won because of centrist views, preacherly manners and his southern accent. Plus the fact he had Ross Perot sucking votes from Bush Sr. Gore, Kennedy, Johnson, all centrists.
