RE: "Really? Why do you think Gitmo guards TODAY are torturing detainees"

1. Since Gitmo guards have been caught, do you think it would be logical for Gitmo to continue torturing detainees today?

"When was the last time one of these reprehensible methods was used?" by the influence of the United States.

2. Saudia Arabia

The USA outsources its abuse, for the most part.

"Really? How did you find this out?"

3. Is it really true that you don't know this piece of information? Maybe you live in a place where media is suppressed? Your question reminds me of the time I reorg'ed a division because too many elementary questions were being asked. I created an extra layer so the entry level folks had increased guidance from less senior people (as oppose to asking basic questions to the senior staff.) It increased efficiency because it prevented senior people's time from being wasted with stuff the newer people already should have known. A lot of this stuff was discussed and posted years ago. You can dig for it.

4. RE: "I didn't know that the Saudis torture people at the request of the United States."

It depends upon the location. If its in Iraq, it's been reported Israel military intelligence are involved - some know a dialect of the language, so it's logical they are selected. If its in Saudia Arabia that the USA deports the prisoner too, S.A. takes over the interrogations and torture.

5. I think the bigger picture question you are missing is, what is the commonality between Iraq, Afghanistan and Gitmo. Some of the torture methods are reasonably consistent: naked person placed on a stretcher and tortured. In Afghanistan and Iraq, the torture has involved murder.

Amy J
