Eat, drink and be merry, for tomorrow we die?
The problem is the hedonistic approach is not consistent with the practice of the typical religious fanatic to achieve a state of grace in preparation to enter the kingdom of whatever.
I don't think it's a smoking gun, as people do odd things for odd reasons - regardless of their faith, or lack thereof.
IMO, the bigger flaws in the official story as far as the terrorists are concerned are:
1. Osama bin Laden, who by all accounts is a reasonably shrewd fellow, picked a crew for a hijacking mission, who were completely helpless behind the controls of an airplane. And, after planning the attacks for years and years, didn't think to provide his crew with flying lessons prior to sending them on their mission.
2. Osama bin Laden, who by all accounts is a reasonably shrewd fellow, didn't think to provide his crew with phoney identities before sending them on their mission.
3. Osama bin Laden, who by all accounts is a reasonably shrewd fellow, planned the attacks for early morning, before most of the occupants of the WTC had arrived for work, and for before the stock market had opened.
4. Osama bin Laden, who by all accounts is a reasonably shrewd fellow, passed up obvious targets such as the White House or Capitol building, in favor of hitting a hardened target such as the Pentagon, and, not only did he pick the Pentagon, he picked the side that had been vacated of all but lowly construction workers.
