Remember Robert Bork? Remember the fillibuster? Remember keeping judges hidden in Committee? Thats how liberal judges get appointed. The Democratic controlled Senate of the past would block ALL real conservative appointments and force Presidents like Reagan and Bush I to pick Supreme Court nominees either out of a pool chosen by Democrats (if they want to see the light of day) or out of a pool of unknown or more moderate. Thats how the process works or worked. You think Republicans had more than 60 members in the Senate under Bush I and Reagan or Ford and Nixon? Think again..
