I think that the essence and the power of EW analysis is that it reflects the emotions of the market participants -- that is, not their individual, but their group (read: crowd) emotions. And those are the natural dynamics of social mood that trace out the EW patterns.

It would follow that the more attention an individual stock attracts, and the more emotion it brings out in investraders - and the more liquid it is -- the more meaningful will be its EW patterns. Maybe GLW was a good recent example. Interesting that as markets became very emotional in 2000, EW and Fibo numbers worked very well.
