Suicide bomber hits marines in Iraq FALLUJA, Iraq (Reuters) - A suicide car bomber blew up a vehicle next to a U.S. Marine convoy in Falluja late on Thursday, causing several casualties, the Marines said on Friday. A Marines statement gave no further details, saying only that more information would be released when it was available. It is unusual for the U.S. military to release a statement on an attack without also giving precise casualty details. Falluja, 50 km (30 miles) west of Baghdad, was a stronghold of anti-American insurgents until late last year, when Marines overran it in a month-long offensive.
